Do you dream of light streaming down into your rooms from above? Do you experience how natural light has a lively, vibrant energy that a lamp could never give?
With a VELUX sun tunnel – often also called a roof light tunnel or light tube – you can let in the daylight and enjoy brighter rooms almost anywhere you want inside your home. You can add a VELUX light tube anywhere there is 6 m or less between your roof and ceiling. Hallways, kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, home offices – wherever you dream of more natural light.
Owners of sun tubes have already experienced the difference it makes. According to an Austrian market survey, more than 95% of customers who have installed a VELUX sun tunnel would recommend it to others.
Flexible sun tunnels make for flexible solutions
A roof light tunnel doesn’t have to be a straight shaft. VELUX sun tunnels come in two versions: a rigid sun tube and a flexible sun tube.
The VELUX flexible sun tunnel is the ideal solution if the angle between the roof and the ceiling is too small for a rigid sun tunnel.
If, for instance, there is less than 2 meters and even down to 40 cm it is possible to install a flexible light tube.
The flexible light tube shaft itself has a diameter of 35 cm, and it is coated with a super reflective paint that reflects 98% of the sunlight that comes through.
The roof module is made with 4 mm toughened glass and a removable sash. The glass comes with clear and clean coating on the outside for a discreet and low-maintenance finish.
Rigid sun tunnel for direct sunlight
The rigid sun tunnel delivers a straight shaft of light for when the ceiling is placed directly under the exterior window.
The rigid roof light tunnel is recommended when there is from 0.9 to 6 m between the roof and ceiling. The rigid roof light tunnels have a diameter of either 35 cm or 25 cm to fit your building.
A super reflective coating along with interior of the light tunnel provides a 98% internal reflection rate. This way, almost no sunlight is lost on the way into your home.

New design and great improvements
New generation VELUX sun tubes have been redesigned from the ground up with a wide range of improvements that make installation faster and easier. Sun tube assembly time is now cut in half.
A new roof module with removable sash ensures quick and easy installation from the outside. Drop the light tunnel into place from the roof. There’s no need to enter the attic or loft; the light tube is now easy to install in tight spaces where attic access is not possible.
EdgeGlow – for more light through the sun tube
The new VELUX diffuser pane for sun tunnels comes with EdgeGlow, a ring of clear glass that offers spectacular light effects. EdgeGlow gives a better spread of light throughout the room, letting you experience the changing light of day like never before. Only VELUX sun tunnels offer EdgeGlow.
Light tunnels for any roof
A VELUX light tunnel is easy to install, regardless of your roof type. It can be installed in tiled roofs (TWF/TWR) or slated roofs (TLF/TLR).
It can also be installed on flat roofs with a roof pitch between 0° - 15°, as well as in roofs with 15°- 60° pitches.
VELUX light tunnels for flat roofs are designed to provide natural light into corridors, stairwells, bathrooms and cupboards, under flat roofs, where installation of a VELUX roof window is not possible.
VELUX light tunnels for pitched roofs are designed to provide natural light into corridors, stairwells, bathrooms and cupboards, under pitched roofs, where installation of a VELUX roof window is not possible.
