With a VELUX balanced ventilation unit added to the roof window, the airflow through the flap is adjusted according to changes in wind pressure. VELUX balanced ventilation allows more air through the flap on calm days and less during strong winds, minimising drafts and boosting indoor comfort.

The innovative self-regulating ventilation unit, developed in cooperation with RENSON, is discreetly integrated into the top case and works without any kind of power supply.

It’s totally unnoticeable from inside and will not obstruct your views or sunlight.

Boost your indoor comfort by placing two VELUX balanced ventilation units on opposite sides of the same room, or in two adjoining rooms, to create a constant flow of fresh air. Cross ventilation will provide a noticeable improvement in your indoor comfort.

The ventilation flap is an original VELUX innovation and a feature in all VELUX windows. It allows fresh air into the room even with the window closed. Your home is kept fresh while being safe and secure.

The VELUX balanced ventilation unit with its RENSON-designed inlet grid adds a new dimension to the VELUX flap. The self-regulating grid constantly adjusts to changing wind pressure, allowing more air through the flap during calm days and in light breezes and less during strong, gusty winds.

Here we see how the VELUX balanced ventilation unit with the RENSON grid allows more fresh air into the home on a calm day. The air is directed into the room in such a way as to reduce draughts, without the use of electricity or unsightly wiring.
